Aviation Maintenance SkillBridge Program for Transitioning Military

Flex Air is proud to offer an exciting workforce development initiative that connects transitioning U.S. military personnel, veterans and military spouses to committed aviation industry hiring partners.

The Aviation Maintenance (AM) SkillBridge program is a 60-180 day, full-time program designed to train and place transitioning service members, honorably discharged veterans and eligible military spouses into aviation maintenance and technician careers with reputable aviation industry partners who are committed to hiring them.

Applicants are not required to have an aviation maintenance background, but a mechanical aptitude is required. Since an industry work site is the duty location for active service members, full-time attendance is mandatory.

The program is currently open to military service members who are within six months of separation or retirement, as well as recently transitioned veterans with an honorable discharge and military spouses. Program attendees must meet eligibility requirements and be willing to relocate to our hiring partner locations in Olathe, KS and Kansas City, KS.

In addition to the internship, trainees will attend a 12-day FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certification Course which can be 100% funded by Tuition or Credentialing Assistance benefits. Trainees will also receive career mentorship, interview coaching, and resume writing training.

Successful program attendees will receive a guaranteed interview with our industry hiring partner Air Associates of Kansas in Olathe, KS and Kansas City, KS.
